Buddy Reading

Through stories and creative activities, Buddy Reading nurtures a lifelong love of books. Children develop social and interpersonal skills, as well as confidence to use English in their daily lives.

Buddy Reading helps students:

  • Cultivate interests in reading as a hobby
  • Improve English language ability and imagination
  • Boost confidence to use English in daily lives
  • Enhance social skills and interpersonal relationships and encourage positive attitude

Program Details

Number of kids per session: 15-20

Language medium: English

Duration: 1 hour per session 

When: 6 sessions per term (Term 1: October – December, Term 2: January – May & Term 3: June – August)

Session rundown:

  • Meet and greet
  • Ice breaking game
  • Group reading
  • Arts and Crafts activities
  • Small group reading
  • Wrap up

Number of volunteers involved per session: 10-15 volunteers trained by Kids4Kids
